ORGANIZATION & OBJECTIVES
??? This office was officially transformed into today’s “Physical Education Office” under the Commission for General Education. The office consists of four sections:
- the Teaching and Researching Section
- the Activity Section
- the Facility Section
Two full-time teachers, four part-time teachers, one administrative assistants. The office is devoted to providing a good learning environment and diverse sports activities.
WORK REPORT
Teaching & Researching
??? For the time being, students in their freshman and sophomore year are required to take PE courses in the following order: “physical fitness”, “Group activity and self-defense”, and “Basic skill of a specific sport”. For those students in their junior and senior years, PE course is an elective. Besides teaching, this section regularly holds lectures concerning physical education and is responsible for publishing” TNUA Physical Education” and “Bulletin of? TNUA Physical Education”. Furthermore, the office sets up a commission for curriculum and holds teaching seminars.
Activity
- To provide lively and diverse sports and physical fitness activities
- To make arrangements for tournaments both inside and outside of the school
- To guide students in holding sport activities.
- To set up Sports Skills Programs for students and employees
Field and Facility
??? This section is responsible for the management of sports facilities our outdoor facilities include a two-hundred meter track and field facility, six hard tennis courts, two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, one ballpark, and a fifty meter swimming pool. Indoor facilities include two gymnasiums. This facilities not only serve the purpose of teaching and training varsity teams, but also provide students, teachers and employees a place for major activities and recreation.
Future Prospects
??? With limited human resources, this office will continue to renovate the physical education curriculum, and activity works with related departments to set up a research center and host conferences concerning sports science. In addition to holding sports activities, major sport competitions and international sports exchanges, the office will promote the establishment of a department and graduate institute related to sports science. It is our objective to not only provide better equipment, but also efficient management in order to contribute to the goal of making TNUA of the leading universities in the world.
